Sittingbourne started strong, survived a scare and then sealed the game late on as they beat Phoenix Sports 4-3 to end a 6 game losing run.
The visitors began the game well at The Mayplace Ground and took the lead on 19 minutes after Tommie Fagg reacted quickest when the Phoenix keeper Steve Phillips failed to deal with a routine cross. It was soon 2-0 with Roman Campbell slotting home after some good work by Timmy Toluwanile.
A long range effort from the returning Jack Hopkins reduced the deficit before Campbell fired home his second just before the break.
Campbell was denied a hat-trick when he hit the post in the opening minute of the second half before Phoenix came back into the game.
A scrambled own-goal was followed by a fine Solomon Taiwo free-kick as the game drew level with the hosts looking more likely winners. However, Sittingbourne hit them in the break and when substitute Johan Carey-Bryan scored late he had clinched his side a much needed win.
