Phoenix Sports rescued a point thanks to a last minute penalty yet for much of the game it looked like they would take all 3 against high-flying Hastings United.
The hosts raced into a 2-0 lead after Kweku Ansah scored from a tight angle on 6 minutes and Lewis Clark got the second from distance shortly after. That advantage was held through to the break and immediately after was nearly extended but Jeff Duah-Kessie saw his powerful drive tipped onto the bar. Conrad Lee and Duah-Kessie again should have wrapped the game up when both missing one-on-ones before Hastings staged their comeback. With 20 minutes to play Jack Dixon headed home from close range before the game was made level through Jordy Mongoy. In the 85th minute Mongoy looked to have won it for the visitors before Alex Teniola earned and then scored a last minute penalty for Phoenix. Honours even at the Mayplace Ground.
