A dominant first half display from Phoenix claims all three points.

A stunning first half performance from Phoenix meant that this one was wrapped up by the break moving the team up to joint top in the League.

The game started fairly even with half-chances for both sides and Kweku Ansah had the perfect opportunity to test the keeper after 10 minutes when Alfie Aldridge provided an exquisite through ball to him but the chance was sent high and wide.

Five minutes later Ansah became the hero. After receiving the ball out on the far touchline he sent a cross into the box which evaded everyone, including the keeper, and ended up nestled in the far corner. A great start, 1-0.

Soon after, it was 2-0. A short corner routine led to Jack Barry chipping the keeper, only to see the ball rebound off the crossbar. Aldridge reacted quickest and superbly volleyed it into the net. A great first goal of this season for Alfie.

Two quickly became three as Phoenix stepped through the gears with ease. Aldridge played in Jeff Duah-Kessie who outmuscled his defender and slid the ball into the net. 3-0.

The fourth came just before the break and was a great counter attack. With Three Bridges pushing forward trying to find a way back in to the game space was left and Duah-Kessie exploited it. He was released down the left wing and although he just had one man to beat he spotted Ansah in space and laid the ball on a platter for him to gobble up. 4-0 and it was only just half time.

Six minutes into the second half Duah-Kessie made it 5-0 with a trademark finish. It is now four goals this season for the big man and this latest one finished this league tie as a contest.

With the game as good as over substitutions were made and it was the visitors that benefitted the most from them. They introduced Connor French and he was a constant threat until the final whistle. He netted two consolation goals for the away side, one from the spot, and the game would probably been a tighter one had he started.

This result makes it a 100% winning start from the two league games so far and sets Phoenix up nicely for the FA Cup tie with this same opposition next week.
