The opposition are led by Adam Woodward and Steven O'Boyle and in the first half showed glimpses that this Season in the SCEFL Premier Division could be a positive one for them but ultimately our First Team were too strong and too clinical for them.

It started perfectly for Phoenix when Fred Olafsen opened the scoring with a trademark strike from outside the box on just 4 minutes.

There were chances for both sides in the First Half but both keepers were not to be beaten again in the first 45 minutes.

Plenty of changes were made at half-time and it was the home side that benefitted the most from them. Kweku Ansah looked to have left his shooting boots at home as he skied a trio of efforts out of the ground but Tony Robinson showed him how it was done when he sneaked in off the right flank to double the home advantage on the hour mark.

Phoenix should really have rattled up the scoreline as they dominated this second period but could only add one more to the tally when Jeff Duah-Kessie pounced on some poor defending to rob his man and slide the ball past the keeper in the dying minutes.

It ended 3-0 to Phoenix and was fairly comfortable.

A good run out for all those involved in the first game at the Mayplace this Season.
