Saturday 31st August
Phoenix Sports 1-2 Guernsey
Guernsey left the Mayplace Ground with the win , to record their first victory in 8 months and leave the host pointless at the bottom of the table.
The returning Ross Allen gave the Islanders an early lead when finishing well with his left foot from inside the box.
Guernsey were on top through most of the first half yet almost went in level when Jeff Duah-Kessie hit the post with a scrambled effort just before the break.
Early in the second 45 minutes Duah-Kessie should have done better when given the perfet opportunity to score from the spot following a foul on Danny Young. Unfortunately the keeper saved well maintaining his sides lead.
It was soon level though and it was that man Jeff that got it, putting his head on an Ashley Probets corner.
In the 72nd minute Guernsey went back in front. Seb Skillen getting a rare goal that restored his teams advantage.
In the dying stages Ross Allen could have sealed it but saw his penalty saved but Guernsey held on to the 2-1 scoreline to take the 3 points back on the plane with them.
