The hosts edged the chances in the first half without testing the keeper with Alex Teniola guilty of missing the target more than once. At the other end Steve Phillips was alert to keep out Chris Smith and we went into the break goalless.

Horsham were impressive in the second half and almost took the lead through Steven Metcalf, but he had to look on as his shot from range clipped the outside of the post.

Against the run of play Phoenix took the lead in the 65th minute. Teniola raced on to a ball over the top and bravely beat the keeper in the air before heading the loose ball into the open net.

The visitors battled valiantly to get back into the game and were more than worthy of a point but the home defence was solid, Phillips was inspired in the Phoenix goal and was not going to be beaten today.
