Profiles

Paul Bryon
The Manager – Paul was thrust into the Phoenix hotseat in October 2017 and led the side to an impressive 11th place finish that season. In the last campaign that was improved further to 9th position and similar progression is sought once more. His backroom staff include Tony Rossiter, Del Oldfied,Alan Foreman, Bill Sullivan and Emily Sawyer.
Steve Phillips
Steve has been at the club for the last 6 years and is one of the most popular people around the place. ‘Frenchie’ is one of the best keepers in the League, is solid, reliable and is regularly pulling off eye-catching saves. Vice-Captain.
Ryan Andrews
Our longest serving first team player. Ryan can regularly be seen flying up and down the right wing, whipping in crosses or tracking back to make a last-gasp tackle. After 7 years at the Mayplace Ryan is part of the furniture and has progressed with the club through the Leagues to our new home in the Isthmian South East Division.
Jack Barry
Jack is a no-nonsense Centre-Back who is enjoying his second spell at Phoenix. He can count Romford, Thamesmead Town and Aveley as former clubs. He may take pride in the team keeping clean sheets but you will also regularly see his name on the scoresheet.
Danny Young
Danny is a very experienced Centre-Back that also likes to claim the odd goal. After a few seasons at Greenwich Borough he made the short move to the Mayplace in 2017 and has also played for Cray Wanderers in the past.
Ashley Probets
Vastly experienced left-back who started off his footballing life at Arsenal. The 35 year-old played League football for Rochdale before having spells with Welling, Barnet, Thamesmead Town and VCD Athletic among others. Dangerous from set-pieces Ashley is our Mr Reliable and quite possibly the most recognisable face at the club.
Lewis Clark
Lewis made the left wing-back position his own last season and has impressed us all with his consistent displays. He worked his way through the Greenwich Borough system before joining us with his highlight being a stunning goal against Hastings back in January.
Jack Hopkins
A born winner ‘Hoppo’ is an inspiration to the rest of our team. He is a very experienced Centre Midfielder that has a keen eye for goal. Made Captain for this year he is hoping to lead Phoenix to their best season yet.
Zak Bryon
A young and versatile midfielder that is comfortable in holding and attacking roles. Has earned his place in the side with some strong performances over the last two years and it would now be strange to see a Phoenix side without Zak in it.
Mahmoud Juma
All action midfielder that only joined Phoenix in the summer. Was very impressive throughout pre-season and now big things are expected from our new man.
Jeff Duah-Kessie
Forward and target man Jeff joined Phoenix from SCEFL side Croydon. The big man has great hold up play and was top scorer for our Club last season. Defenders know they have been in a game when they play against him.
Lauris Chin
One of the newer members of the team after joining from Whyteleafe in the summer. Lauris has incredible pace and energy and is sure to form a lethal partnership with Jeff as the season progresses.
Kenny Aileru
Young prospect that stepped up from the Reserve side and is now playing a key role for the First Team. Kenny is going to be a vital for Phoenix this season and can fit into many attacking and midfield positions.
Lee Bird
Key squad player that is ready to fit in anywhere along the back line or midfield. Is sure to get more game time as the games mount up for the club and is solid and dependable when he gets his chance.
George Whitelock
An aggressive left-winger that can often change a game with his deliveries from out wide. Far from shy George likes to get stuck in and by the end of the match the referee will usually have him on first name terms.
Ryan Solan
Pacy young forward that can be a defenders worst nightmare. Got his chance in the First Team after a good Reserves season and now needs to show that same form as he gets his opportunities in the Isthmian League.
Andrew Dythe
Progressed from the Reserves after some outstanding performances last year. This young left-back has his future ahead of him and it will be great to see him get even more First Team minutes this season.
Ollie Andrews
Another that came through last season’s Reserve Team to get game time for the First at the back end of the last campaign. This centre-midfielder is composed, tough-tackling and has the eye to spot the perfect pass.
Connor McGrady
Young centre-back that is new to the club this summer. Previously at Bromley Connor will be trying to impress when he gets the opportunity this year.
Fred Agyemang
This centre-forward will be trying to force his way into the First team squad this year by scoring goals for the Reserves in the midweek league. He has plenty of SCEFL experience but is now trying to make it in the Step above.
