Phoenix Sports mourns the loss of Vice Chairman, Stephen House.

It is with great sadness that the club announces that Stephen House, the Vice Chairman of Phoenix Sports, lost his battle with cancer yesterday at the age of 58.

Having been on the club's board for over 22 years, the passing of Steve is devastating news for Phoenix Sports but, more importantly, for his family and many friends.

The thoughts of everyone at the club are with his wife, Juliet, his son, Ryan, and his daughter, Shannon at this terrible time.

Phoenix Sports Chairman Andy Mortlock said:

"Stephen has been a very good friend of mine for over 30 years. We have shared so many good times together over those years and have made so many great memories that I will treasure.

Housey and I joined the Phoenix board together 22 years ago, and it is impossible to put into words how much hard work he has put into the club.
It is a real tribute to him what Phoenix has become compared to when we took over.

Stephen House will go down as a true legend of Phoenix, and on behalf of myself, the board members, managers, volunteers, and players—young and old—we salute him and the work he has done for Phoenix.

RIP Steve, my good friend and a Phoenix Legend.”

There will be a minute’s silence before Saturday’s fixture with Margate, and Phoenix players will wear black armbands in Steve’s memory.

A book of condolence will also be placed at the club ahead of Saturday’s match that will be passed onto Steve’s family.

The EGM planned for Thursday night will be postponed until further notice.
