1st Team sign Academy player Alfie Aldridge for 2017/18 season.

Over the Summer 1st Team Manager, Steve O'Boyle has made lots of changes to his squad ahead of their debut season in the Bostik Division One South League, bringing in some young guns, as well as the addition of some excellent experienced players.

And as the pre-season campaign heads towards its completion, O'Boyle has made another signing, this time from within the wider Phoenix family.

We are happy to announce that Phoenix Sports Football Academy player Alfie Aldridge has signed for the 1st Team, in an exciting move for both the young player and the squad as a whole.

The 17-year-old has already notched up a few appearances in pre-season, coming on as a substitute against Welling United, Dartford FC and Tilbury FC, clocking up a good amount of game time already.

Last season Alfie scored 54 goals for the Phoenix Sports Football Academy, playing in the Conference Youth Alliance League. The versatile youngster can play in either midfield or up top, equally confident in both positions.

Academy coach, Jack Parkinson said: "Alfie had a fantastic season with the academy last year and we wish him all the best as he embarks on the season ahead with the 1st Team".

Whilst 1st Team Manager, Steve O'Boyle said: "Alfie is an exciting young player who had a phenomenal run last season for the Academy, and has a bright future ahead of him".
