After a promising start, Phoenix exit the Emirates FA Cup against tough opposition Enfield.

On Saturday Phoenix faced Enfield Town from the Bostik Premier division in the Emirates FA Cup 3rd round qualifying - the furthest the club have ever reached in the competition!

Unfortunately this was as far as we got.

Phoenix took a great and vocal away crowd to Enfield, the total spectators on the day was 501. After a decent chance for Jack Hopkins to score in the 3rd minute, Phoenix went behind in the 7th. A poor throw from keeper Steve Phillips found the Enfield right back, who moved it wide to winger Mario Noto, who's cross some how ended up in the back of the net.

Then in the 10th minute Steve Phillips could not hold onto the ball from an Enfield corner and Simon Thomas scored their 2nd.

The game was 2-0 at half time with a few chances for both teams after the 2nd goal.

In the 2nd half Phoenix started brightly with plenty of possession but unfortunately no quality in the final 3rd, Dajon Golding replaced Kewku Ansah and Richard Seixas replaced Kelvin Obdoe in the 56 min.

This gave Phoenix a new drive but again with no end product.

Enfield Town were also creating a lot of chances and some great saves and defending from Phoenix kept it at 2-0, eventually Enfield’s 3rd goal came in the 87th min from Montell Moore.

The game finished 3-0, it just proved a step to far for the Phoenix team. But well done on a fantastic, exciting and profitable campaign!! With the Kent Senior Cup, League and FA Trophy still to concentrate on their is still a lot for the Phoenix Squad to go for!!

And that starts tonight with our away fixture to Cray Wanderers in the FA Trophy. Come on down and support the side. All welcome!
