Both sides hit the woodwork in an entertaining first half where Alex Teniola also failed to convert a number of opportunites for the visitors. Going down the hill in the second 45 minutes Phoenix upped a gear but were sruggling to get a clear shot off on the new Borough keeper.

The game came alive in the final 5 minutes. Solomon Taiwo produced a stunning through ball to Jeff Duah-Kessie who was brought down when about to get his shot off in the area. The referee had no choice but to point to the spot but Taiwo wasted the chance to give his side the lead by firing high and wide towards Lewisham.

He soon made up for that though! In the final minute a free-kick was given on the edge of the box and just like on the previous Saturday Taiwo smashed the ball in to the top corner to win the game for our lads.

It was a decent away performance against a side transitioning under a familiar Management Team to us.

Next up will be a tougher trip to Hythe Town on Saturday.
