Welling Town 5-1 Phoenix Sports Reserves

Phoenix Sports Reserves got off to a great start but couldn't hold on and were overpowered in the second half by league leaders Welling Town

Macey Malyon scored twice on Saturday and carried that goalscoring form into this game when he hit the back of the net on 26 minutes.

Welling are League leaders for a reason though and got a scrappy equaliser through Chris Mirlees on 33 minutes.

The second half started badly and got worse as Grant Brown and Ryan Golding both scored soon after the restart.

Mehmet Piro and Enoch Adjei added to the tally to make it a convincing win for Welling Town and keep them on top of the pile.

Phoenix are yet to get that elusive first point of the season but are still impressing all with their style and commitment. A win will not be far away.
