SCEFL First Division

Phoenix Sports Reserves put on a spirited fightback to earn a point at the London Hire Ground. FC Elmstead raced into a 2-0 halftime lead with goals from Prescott Kerr and Louis Sprosen before seeing their keeper sent off with 10 minutes to go. That inspired the visitors to go for it and that they did as substitutes Dan Hunwick and Connor McCormack both netted to earn Phoenix a much-needed point. The draw stops a 9-game losing run for Elmstead who find themselves in 14th place.

Snodland Town 2-1 Holmesdale

With the top 5 teams all winning, defeat for Holmesdale at Snodland Town has given the side from Bromley a mountain to climb if they want to stay in this promotion fight. It was looking good for Andy Constable's side early on as he himself put his team in the lead in just the 6th minute. This is a much different Snodland side to the struggling one from earlier in the season though and they levelled through Tommy Lee Judd before going on to win the game thanks to Dan Melvin's 55th minute goal. The win moves Snodland into a position of relative safety aswell as wrecking their visitors title dreams. It is still Welling Town on top after they won 3-1 at the Ladywell Arena. In an action-packed first half hour the visitors raced into 2-goal lead thanks to efforts from Sam Bailey and Harry Gamble. Lewisham Borough then pulled one back through Mahmoud Juma before Ryan Golding quickly restored the breathing room for the 'Boots'. With no further goal action Welling walked away with the points and can continue to look down on the pack from their position up high. Kennington remain second after an impressive 4-0 win at home to Forest Hill Park. A double from Tom Scorer was followed by efforts from George Latham and Gary Lockyer as the team from Ashford continue with their promotion push.
Nathan Simpson scored League goals 16 and 17 as his Bridon Ropes team defeated SC Thamesmead 2-0 at Bayliss Avenue. The Ropes are third in the table and have games in hand on the two sides above them. Sutton Athletic also kept themselves in contention for League honours after seeing off Lydd Town today. George Bryan and Chris McGinty got the Sutton goals that see them stay in 4th position. One place lower is Erith & Belvedere who went to the basement boys and came home with maximum points. Credit should be given to Rochester United who didn't fold after Harry Harding scored in the first half but they have now gone 11 games without a victory and need to turn things around quickly before it is too late.
The assembled crowd at the Glentworth Club saw the most SCEFL goals today as Greenways came out best over Kent Football United in a 7-goal thriller. Ahmed Dean hit the opener for the hosts from the spot which was replicated by James Trueman for Greenways shortly after. KFU led at the break thanks to AJ Amoyayi but the visitors came on strong in the second half and were rewarded with an Aaron Kleman double either side of a Bradley Cross finish to take a 4-2 lead. Alim Sesay pulled one back on the final whistle but it was too little too late for the hosts who, when they look over their shoulder, will see just 3 sides below them. One of them teams is Phoenix Sports Reserves who put on a spirited fightback to earn a point at the London Hire Ground.
