Our traditional end of Season Presentation night was held on Saturday and once again it was a great evening, celebrating another good year for our Senior teams.
For our Reserves it was their final year in the SCEFL before we head in another direction next campaign. Earlier in the day the lads had performed an amazing late comeback to get a win at Rochester United ensuring that they would finish clear of the drop zone while keeping their hosts in it. Del Oldfield's side have come on so far this season and have been able to supply the First Team with a number of players.
Del kicked off the evening by thanking all at the club for this opportunity and stating that he will stay on as one of the First Team coaches next year.
The main Phoenix Sports Reserves Awards were as follows...
Managers Player of the Year - Macey Malyon
Supporters Player of the Year - George Oldfield
Players Player of the Year - AJ Dythe
Top Goalscorer - Kameron Mendez
Our Club Captains spoke and gave thanks to all around the Club that have been so helpful this season. Special Respect was given by them to these three who have been heavily involved with the First Team.
On behalf of the team the Captains also wanted to thank the Manager for being such a legend throughout the year!
First Team Manager Paul Bryon announced that he will be staying on for next season before thanking a whole host of people around the club. These included, but are not limited to Phil, Dean, the Commitee, his Backroom team, his Mrs, Del and the Reserves, the supporters, basically everyone but especially Pat!
Special thanks were given to some of those heavily involved on First Team matchdays
The Main First Team awards came next and were as follows...
Supporter of the Year - Jack Norton
Players Player of the Year - Jeff Duah-Kessie
Supporters Player of the Year - Danny Young
Managers Player of the Year - Steve Phillips
That was it for the awards so we then just got drunk and started dancing!
So that's it for the season. It's been a fun one. Let's meet at the Club in a couple of months time and do it all over again!
