A feisty encounter ended honours even as Phoenix lost a little ground on a play off place in the Bostik South promotion race.
The wet and windy conditions meant this game wasn’t for football purists as both sides struggled to play any flowing football throughout.
But the home side should’ve led on 20 minutes but Jack Barry conspired to put a free header on a free kick delivery wide from six yards.
The Robins punished them before the break as a corner kick was met by Kalvin Morath-Gibbs whom headed his fourth goal of the season.
Phoenix boss Paul Bryon rallied his troops at the break and his side levelled on 48 minutes through a 20 yard cracker by the lively Christie Pattison.
The winger threatened again on 66 minutes but this time keeper Billy Bishop got down and parried the shot away.
The Robins almost nicked it late on but Raheem Sterling-Parker fired wide of the far post and it meant, after Lewes and Cray dropped points, Carshalton failed to gain ground on their promotion rivals.
