PHOENIX SPORTS CLUB ARE HOLDING THIS YEAR'S AGM AT BJ's OF ANNIESLAND AT 7pm ON WEDNESDAY 28th APRIL. ALL MEMBERS MUST ATTEND! Following another successful season the committee are pleased to invite all members to this year's AGM. This is a requirement of the constitution and is the one time of the year that players can congratulate the committee on their good work or indeed raise any irks or issues. The AGM will consist of a President's Welcome, Financial Report, Coaches Report, Membership Report and Players Report. As is the usual practise the committee will be voted for and this year promises many changes. Following a three year term as President, Dougie Campbell will be stepping down gracefully (or as gracefully as he can) to make way for fresh blood. The Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary positions will be voted upon also. Following the success of David Forbes' appointment to the committee last year as Players Rep this position will be open to all candidates as will two new positions, both named Non-Portfolio Officers. This will give the opportunity for more members to become involved with the running of an extremely successful young club and give the candidates an opportunity to learn the workings of a committee helping in any area that interests them before hopefully taking on the more Senior committee roles in the future. All members will be emailed role descriptions in advance so they can decide if they would like to be nominated for the positions. BIG NEWS THIS YEAR - The Captain for 2010/2011 will be voted in at the AGM this year to give the Captain the opportunity to be involved with the new coaching staff over the Pre Season period to ensure that we hit the ground running next season. We look forward to seeing you all there and hope there is a big attendance. Dougie Campbell President |
